Schlottsinator
This man enjoyed life
George Schlott came to Stark County in the 1820s. In his later years, he made his home in a little red house that was built across from Lot 15. He loved the circus and “whenever one came to Canton he could be seen walking to that city with an umbrelly under his arm no matter how fair the weather.” He used to pour a half glass of whiskey, fill another glass half full of water, “pour both into a larger glass and then drink the whole with relish.” (Basner 241)
Doppelbocks traditionally have a name that ends with the suffix "-ator" as a nod to Salvator, the name originally used by the monks who first brewed Dopplebock for the feast of St. Francis Paola.
